Hi
Thank you for your interest in the CTOME project.
I am a physicist and materials scientists with 10 years of experience in research environment. My domain of competences deals with the real time sensing of microstructure evolution in metals.
I lead a team of research on an project at the bridge between metallurgy and physics. We are continuing the development of a Laser Ultrasonics Sensor especially dedicated for research in metallurgical science. This technology was invented and developed at the NRC at Boucherville (QC) and is non destructive and non-contact sensor capable of sensing metallurgical phenomena in real time. The method uses lasers for the generation and detection of ultrasonic waves, which then tell us about the state of the structure at a given time. These processes occur generally at high temperature and the possibility to observe the structure in real time is a real breakthrough for the metallurgical industry.
I created CTOME Software & Consulting Inc. as a spin-off company in UBC in 2014. The set of software and services offered by CTOME has already proved beneficial for many in UBC and throughout the word.
Best regards
Thomas
